Mini Stocks From All Over Will Be Welcome on Commonwealth Classic Weekend
The start of the 2019 racing season could come a little bit earlier than usual for the teams of the North East Mini Stock Tour thanks to an optional weekend getaway. The NEMST has announced that they will contest a $1,000-to-win event as part of the Pro All Stars Series Commonwealth Classic at Richmond International Raceway (VA) on March 29th and 30th.
This will be the second NASCAR Cup Series track on the NEMST schedule. The NEMST also competes at New Hampshire Motor Speedway as part of the New England Short Track Showdown, which will be held in 2019 on the weekend of June 22nd-23rd.
Mini Stock teams from the Southeast, Mid Atlantic and Midwest regions are encouraged to enter the event. Partnerships have been,made with the Carolina Mini Stocks and the Midwest Compact Touring Series.
The Richmond race will be a non-points event due to its early date and distance. It will be run using complete NEMST rules and procedures. The purse will be increased for this event with a $1,000 being award to the winner and the following payout throughout the rest of the field:
Second Place – $650
Third Place – $600
Fourth Place – $550
Fifth Place – $500
Sixth Place – $400
Seventh Place – $300
Eighth Place – $200
Ninth – Fifteenth Place – $100
Sixteenth to Thirtieth Place – $75
Thirty-First to Forty-Third Place – $50
The Commonwealth Classic is a weekend showcasing short track racing at the three-quarter mile Richmond oval. The weekend is headlined by the PASS Super Late Models and features several other divisions of short track racecars. For more event information, please visit ProAllStarsSeries.com.
